Raku Ho'olaule'a
We’re excited to share that we’ll be the guest artists and jurors for Raku Ho’olaule’a 2026. The dates are March 19-22. We’ll do some demos and presentations on Oahu prior to the campout. Check the Hawaii Craftsmen website for more info.
Founded in 1977, Raku Hoʻolauleʻa (a celebration of raku) brings together ceramic artists to participate in raku and related firing techniques at a campout which is held in a beautiful beach setting on the North Shore of Oʻahu. Objects glazed and fired at the beach are juried by experts in contemporary and traditional raku for an exhibition.
Additional events include a tea bowl workshop, demonstrations by our guest artist, and a community kiln where the public can glaze tea bowls and watch them being fired.
Madam Pele has been putting on quite the shows for the past few weeks. We are continually mesmerized the power and magnificence. Check out this video showing moving lave that inspires our textures.

Rhythms of Resonance
Rhythms of Resonance Exhibition
August 23 - October 11, 2025
Donkey Mill Art Center
Artist Panel, October 11th 10am-1pm
“No Space For Tyranny” Collaboration Kate & Will Jacobson, Amber Aguirre, 42” x 26” x 9”,
Curated by Jake Boggs and Mina Elison, Rhythms of Resonance offers a rare glimpse into the dynamics of collaborative ceramic practice, where dialogue, experimentation, and mutual respect shape both process and outcome.
For this exhibition, artists were invited to explore clay through the lens of their collaborator’s insights, approaches, and aesthetics. From initial conversations to finished works, the exhibition documents and celebrates the journey of co-creation, where boundaries dissolve, voices blend, and the medium itself becomes a meeting ground for innovation and exchange.
